Proprietary development
Proprietary development: from land to Ready-to-Build
Gaya Solar's model combines co-development with institutional investors and proprietary development: we bear the development risk and take every project through to authorisation.
Our model
Two complementary lines, one standard of execution
We operate under two complementary models. In co-development we work side by side with institutional investors, structuring each project to meet financial market requirements from the origination stage: this allows us to anticipate investors' needs and reduce friction at closing. In proprietary development we bear the risk ourselves: we identify the site, negotiate the land agreements, manage the grid connections and see the permitting process through to the end. In both cases the process is the same, the team is the same and the standards are the same. So is the objective: to take the project to RTB.
Our operating model
We operate through two complementary development lines.
Co-development with institutional investors
We develop projects in partnership with funds and industry players, ensuring alignment with the needs of the financial market from the earliest stages. This model allows us to identify investor requirements early and structure projects to be bankable.
Proprietary development
We identify, develop and permit projects on Gaya Solar's own account, bearing the development risk and aiming to maximise value at the point of sale or financial close.
The development chain we manage
From the first suitability assessment of a site to the last permit, we manage every phase in-house.
