What makes land suitable?
We assess agricultural plots of at least 5 hectares on flat or gently sloping ground. We check for the absence of landscape, hydrogeological and nature conservation constraints, a compatible agricultural land use, the distance from the grid connection point, solar irradiation and land morphology.
Can I continue farming the land?
Yes. In agrivoltaic plants the modules are mounted on elevated structures that leave room for farm machinery and the crops beneath, typically lucerne and other forage crops. The land keeps its agricultural designation and continues to generate farming income.
How long do lease or purchase agreements last?
We offer long-term agreements: either purchase of the land or a 30-year lease. Terms are agreed with the landowner in a preliminary agreement before the permitting process begins.
Who bears the development and permitting costs?
Gaya Solar. No investment is required from the landowner: development, permitting and construction costs are borne entirely by us.
