Solar PV, agrivoltaics, BESS.From first site visit to authorisation. One team, the full value chain.

Gaya Solar develops solar PV, agrivoltaic and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in Italy. Engineers, urban planners, agronomists and lawyers work as one integrated team on every project: we manage every phase in-house, from land search to final authorisation.

What we do

Three technologies, one development chain

Gaya Solar develops utility-scale renewable generation and storage projects: 272 MWp of solar PV and agrivoltaic plants across 26 projects and 1.1 GW of BESS storage across 9 projects, all managed in-house from site selection to Ready-to-Build.

Agrivoltaics

Agrivoltaics

Agrivoltaics is not simply solar PV on farmland: it is an integrated system in which energy generation and crop cultivation coexist and enhance each other. Our projects are developed with in-house agronomists, certified crops and structures sized to secure both energy yield and continuity of farming.

Agrivoltaics offers a unique opportunity to integrate sustainable energy projects, giving new life to agricultural land in need of regeneration and allowing energy and agricultural production to coexist, thereby sharply limiting land take.

Facts and figures

70%

of Sicily's territory is at risk of desertification.

Through agrivoltaics, Gaya Solar helps restore uncultivated land and prevent desertification.

Only 10%

of the total cultivated field area is occupied by the plant: minimal land take.

BESS

BESS

Our BESS projects are developed through Dora Sun S.r.l., a group company dedicated entirely to utility-scale storage. The Dora Sun team brings together technical specialists and experts with specific know-how in battery systems, transmission grid connections and Single Authorisation (AU) permitting for standalone and co-located plants.

About us

Building the energy future, one authorisation at a time

Gaya Solar was founded in Milan in 2023 by professionals with direct experience in building and growing companies in the renewable energy sector: biogas, wind and solar PV. Not a start-up learning the trade, but a team that has already been through complex development cycles, managed lengthy permitting processes and taken projects to RTB in challenging regulatory environments.

The company operates under two complementary models: co-development with institutional investors, to stay constantly aligned with the needs of the financial market, and proprietary development on Gaya's own account, taking on the risk directly and focusing on the end result. In both cases the objective is the same: authorisation.

Co-development and proprietary development

Two complementary business lines: partnerships with institutional investors and proprietary development in which we bear the risk, to maximise project value.
